I love when Steve Jobs makes comments. I love even more when those businesses respond (for example, the whole antenna debacle blame game). Jobs feels that his competitors are inflating their numbers now.

After throwing out Apple’s stats, Jobs said, “we think we’re ahead of everyone else,” because, “we think some our friends are counting upgrades in their numbers.”

Um, yeah, not so fast says Google.

Google has since responded saying, “The Android activation numbers do not include upgrades and are, in fact, only a portion of the Android devices in the market since we only include devices that have Google services.”

*Google sticks tongue out*

I wish this numbers game didn’t need to even be played. Always announcing perfectly round numbers to display sales and whatnot — we all know that both android and iOS devices are EVERYWHERE. We don’t need the exact number (or, well, a perfectly round number that is somewhere in the vicinity of the actual number).

Business Insider all over it.

Stetson Allie, 2nd round pick of the Pirates. $2.25 million.

via Pirates.com:

PITTSBURGH — Joined by over a dozen family members and friends, Stetson Allie took the No. 10 Pirates jersey from general manager Neal Huntington, posed for a few pictures and then draped the jersey over his head.

It was — quite frankly — a moment the Pirates had feared would never happen.
