Florida Coastal School of Law – Web Communications Assistant (March 2010-present)

Social Media:

  • Created and maintain school’s official social media presence at Facebook and Twitter. Grew Facebook page from zero to 1,100-plus ‘likes’ in first year, added more than 400 followers while building conversation on Twitter. These two spots, along with LinkedIn, FriendFeed and The Coastal Network (see below), are now the number five referral in terms of traffic to fcsl.edu. Up five spots and ranked only behind direct traffic, Google, student e-mail and Bing.
Web Content:
  • Created school’s blogging network, The Coastal Network, on WordPress Multisite. Fifteen blogs currently deliver daily news updates, which average about 3,000 pageviews per month. Instituted blogging policy/guidelines to help staff utilize and properly make most of the space.

Mobile:

  • Project manager for school’s iOS app. Worked in conjunction with creative team at BroadBased Communciations to develop an effective product. App features school news, photo gallery, link to site, faculty/staff directory (with click-to-call/e-mail functionality), local resources and calendar syncing.
  • Used JQTouch mobile framework to create school’s mobile website (averaging about 4,000 pageviews per month). Thanks to the framework, the bulk of the work consisted mainly of HTML and a dose of CSS.
